After teaching in the classroom for 35 years, I am newly retired, but not ready to give up working with children. Tutoring allows me to do one of my favorite parts of classroom teaching: work one-on-one with a child. It is in the one-on one situation I am able to assess, individualize lessons and adapt as the need arises while teaching. My favorite areas are reading and writing as well as test preparation. I also enjoy meeting the student where he or she is needing help in whatever school subject he or she may be struggling with. Helping students see what they were not understanding is very rewarding.

I am an avid reader and like to write myself. I have a dream of writing and publishing a novel. I have two active dogs, two children in college, and my husband and I live on 6 acres of land with hiking and mountain biking trails right on our land. My family is very active and loves to do outdoor activities: downhill skiing, ice skating, swimming, water skiing, paddle boarding biking, running, hiking, and much more.
