I specialize in English Literature, writing and editing.


Over the course of my undergraduate life, I have taken over 15 courses in literature and creative writing. I possess a diverse knowledge of texts, including topics in Medieval, Restoration, Romantic and Postmodern. Additionally, I am familiar with many critical lenses, such as postcolonial criticism, feminist criticism and psychoanalytic theory.

As a Writing Center Tutor for Linfield College, I mentored fellow students in every stage of the writing process. In the prewriting stage I assisted in understanding the assignment, brainstorming ideas and thesis development. From here I would facilitate freewriting workshops and sessions focused on organizing the student's ideas into a coherent outline they could follow once they left our center to write their assignment. Finally we would enter the proofreading stage, where we would perform content, line and copy editing. My commitment to helping the student and guiding them through the process of academic discourse rather than merely serving as a grammar-check service fostered personalized learning for students in all programs, departments and years. Ultimately, my teachings were clear, insightful, and individually tailored to my students, allowing me to become the most requested tutor in our center.
