Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Hollins University, which is a small liberal arts all girls college located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Roanoke. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Non-Profit Management. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, teaching adults and children in Africa, India, on the importance of nutrition and literacy; and most recently Thailand, as a certified ESL instructor. I have always been involved with education and young children due to my lifelong involvement with my mother's first grade class, as well as being a youth camp counselor for many years. I believe every educator intends to support the curiosity and creativity of their students, my specialty is exploring the world around us through reading. Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstein are among my favorites, I always enjoy the fascinating and funny characters in their stories and poems. I look forward to encouraging and guiding your child's natural abilities and challenging them to investigate their own world critically and creatively.
