Certified Tutor

I am passionate about supporting students and watching them grow academically to ultimately succeed at their goals.

I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and am now pursuing a graduate degree from Strayer University for a Master of Education; Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

I taught in a private school for six years and while their I taught K- 12th grade students any subject ranging from Reading to Chemistry. Since then, for nine years, I became a resource parent and have given my life to assisting children to meet their academic, social, and emotional goals.

I tutor many subjects, again from Reading to Chemistry. My specialties are Biology and Reading, and will tutor in these subjects for any age level.

My Educational Philosophy is as follows:

Where students of all ages, races, classes, culture, genders, and developmental needs, have the right to an education that embraces diversity and teaches them to be tolerant and unbiased. Students are provided with an opportunity to engage, participate and learn in all areas of the curriculum by exploring multicultural perspectives that strengthens respect and understanding of all human differences.

My personal beliefs are as follows:

I believe that education seeks to create an understanding and respect for all people and to improve social situations. It is recognizing that there are other equality efficacious ways of experiencing the world.

As for my interests outside academia, I enjoy playing the saxophone, taking long hikes with my family, and building forts with my two little girls.
