Any student can get ahead, and 1-to-1 tutoring can help! Varsity Tutors aims to make learning more accessible, and I am thrilled to join an expert panel from multiple disciplines offering customized solutions for each student.

As a conversation partner with international students (e.g. from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Thailand, and China), I had the privilege of assisting colleagues with varying levels of fluency and academic achievement.

My personal background as a native speaker in Mandarin also helped with interpretation for other students learning Mandarin and Chinese culture. From a curricular standpoint, fluency in at least one foreign language, and study abroad, were core requirements for International Studies majors at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. My study abroad took place at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where I studied the History of Diplomacy in Modern China, Sino-US Relations, and Upper-Intermediate Chinese. My coursework in the United States was similarly focused on domestic and international politics, history, and economics. These subjects featured prominently in my honors thesis, which required four semesters to complete and defend. As a result, I am very attuned towards the needs of students who encounter difficulty at any point during the writing process.
