My teaching philosophy is one that each learner is uniquely talented. The approach must be differentiated for that learner in order to master the material.

I would first review what materials are offered in order to provide an outline for learning/tutoring. After that, we then can work on how to address the areas for mastering that subject.

In order to help students become independent learners, one must equip them with the tools. Often, this becomes a struggling block if one is not able to critically think or assess what is required for that assignment/subject.

I would help a student remain motivated by ensuring that the proper tools are given. Along with that, often one needs that extra support for encouragement. One must also instill the proper skills for this to happen.

I would investigate different methods to present the material. This might be in modeling the skill or concept, and then asking the student to repeat. Another way for some would be entering the discussion from another angle or subject that is easier for the student to understand.

One must begin with phonetics and decode the words in order to assist the reading comprehension. The more at ease the student is with these areas, the more their comprehension levels begin to rise.

There needs to be an outline of what is expected, as well as where the student is at this time. Using different platforms allows students to comprehend the material better.

Try to find another angle of interest that can be tied into that subject. For example, one that struggles in reading might enjoy comic books. By starting to catch the interest in that genre, one then begins to incorporate the skills needed for that subject.

There are many ways to assess their understanding of the material. One would be asking the student to model the technique to master it. Another might be asking for a verbal explanation on how they are solving the problem.

Slowly integrating the success of the material will build confidence for the student. This might be a general understanding of how the material fits into the perspective in order to build on that foundation.

One needs to look at the entire picture in order to evaluate the needs of that student. There��might be strengths in other areas that can assist the weaknesses of others. Once we have truly outlined these learning achievements, they are able to soar.

Tutoring is an area that has to be personable. Depending on the way the student learns, one must differentiate their instruction/tutoring. One might be more visual while the other student is more auditory; this plays an important role in the determination of their needs.

I utilize all that is available and pertinent for that student. This can include a whiteboard, uploading a document, or interaction of how to apply that material through a webcast.
