What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in a student-centered approach where the teacher is more of the facilitator. I put the student's needs and interests first and work to challenge the student so that he/she wants to investigate more about the subject.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Review the objectives of the lessons, and try to engage the student so he/she knows that I'm in his/her corner. Review some of the material that the student is struggling with.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Encourage students to research and investigate things that they enjoy that can connect to their learning experience.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
By reminding students that learning is a key component of developing as a person, and by showing them the benefits of whatever they are learning.
