As the oldest of three children, I started my undergraduate college career at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. At NSU, I studied broadcast journalism. The opportunity to host my own television Sports Show was dream come true. I went on to have a radio journalism career and enjoyed it. As a son of an entrepreneur, I wanted to run my own company one day. In the fall of 2009, I enrolled into Western International University as a MBA/MGT student. I learned the importance of leadership and communication in the workplace.
I started working with children as a basketball coach eight years ago. After moving to the classroom this year, I am using this opportunity to encourage students using the scaffolding method. Some of my favorite subjects are English grammar, Reading Comprehension, English Literature, and Public Speaking. Public Speaking gives the students to express themselves. This environment teaches the students how effectively communicate a point to their peers in a professional manner. The students will learn how to turn the other cheek.
I love playing basketball and coaching sports. I love to read about sports. My favorite books are autobiographies and anything related to lions. I love traveling to different cities' zoos to see their animals. In my teaching, I like to use animal parables to teach concepts.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I always like to find out what common interests I have with a student before starting a session. Then, we will use the common interest to help create a learning model to overcome the student's hurdles.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Probing questions and teaching the student what to look for in certain situations makes the student an independent learner.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Telling thought provoking parables and telling the students about people who were once in their shoes make the obstacle appear a little bit smaller. Also, a teacher often must tell a student how he/she had to overcome the obstacle. Then, the student would recognize their struggle is normal.
