I am a 14 year veteran teacher with experience is elementary education kindergarten through 5th grade, general and special education. My masters degree concentration was in Reading Instruction of Students and Students with Special Needs. I have a background with students with a variety of disabilities., including learning disabilities, Autism, Developmental Delays, and Physical Impairments. I have trained in Orton Gillingham Reading Foundation Multi Sensory Programs and have access to programs to bring with me. My greatest skill is teaching reading and writing instruction of students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade; especially those who are struggling to meet grade level Common Core State Standards.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
When I first begin working with a student I like to begin with a fun getting to know you activity. I like to conduct a survey where the student answers some questions for me about themselves, their likes, their dislikes, their favorite/least favorite subjects, favorite books to reading and what skills they would like to work on during tutoring.
