Hi! I am a 24-year old student who has just graduated from the University of Arizona with my BA in Linguistics. My minors are Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
I was born in Germany, and speak fluent German. I have always had a love and interest for languages, and my goal is to encourage students to also embrace foreign languages, and hopefully ignite a spark for second-language learning all kinds of different people. Learning a second, third, or even fourth language can be an extremely fun and rewarding process, and I want to be a part of it!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is personalization. Every person learns in a different way, especially when it comes to second-language acquisition. My goal is to find the right kind of teaching method for each of my students, and to be able to personalize their lesson plans. I believe that everyone can learn a second language.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I want to get to know the student so that I can fit them into my teaching philosophy--personalization. I want to get to know how my student thinks, and what teaching or learning methods have and haven't worked for them in the past so that together we can set up tutoring sessions that will work best for the student. I would also review what they may have learned about the topic at hand already and base what to do next off of the student's past experiences.
