Stephany

Certified Tutor

I am a mechanical engineering student who will graduate from The City College of New York this December. I hope to pursue a career in the energy industry once I graduate. I believe that this industry is the key in helping improve our environment for future generations and I hope to be involved in its effort to expand technologies in renewable energy.

As an engineering student, I learned that knowing the right answer is not necessarily the most important thing. It is more important to learn how to solve a problem. When I encounter a problem that seems impossible, instead of simply giving up, I go back to my basics. Instead of focusing on what I do not know, I look at what information is given to me. I also look at the problem from a different angle to see if it is another way to solve the problem.

I hope to teach students that despite how challenging a problem may appear, they shouldn't feel discouraged. They should know that there is always a way to solve it.
