It's my passion, my purpose, and my love to TEACH! By day, part of my time consists of me being a counselor, and I work with youth and families who need intervention. I also work with inner-city schools on behavior support. My other time is spent as an empowerment (motivational) speaker to teens and families, as well as a guest lecturer at universities on youth and family development, urban education, and social justice. I have a graduate background in Urban Education- I taught English, Social Psychology and Family Development (counseling.) I love the work that I do and I also have a passion for teaching YOU English and writing fundamentals, too. Some days, I miss being in the classroom...so, that's where you come in.
All of my work encompasses self-empowerment and self-care and is geared towards youth and family development. I'm also a published author! Writing, talking, and writing again are my passion.
Reminders that I tell myself quite OFTEN:
Michael- you're only human. Give yourself grace and let your humanity show!
When you're in tough times, remember that It's the hottest fire that makes the hardest steel; so, don't give up! Oh, and just when the Caterpillar thought life was over, she became a butterfly. Hmm.. Perhaps the butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness, yet become something beautiful. So, shine on, my friends. Shine on!
I look forward to serving you. Be well!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I can do ANYTHING that I put my mind to. The human brain- one of the most powerful and electrifying organs- is really unstoppable. In fact, you can convince the brain to do ANYTHING. Yep, anything! So, I'm here to help you create a vision, do the work, and reap the rewards! Oh, and we'll have fun, too!! Learning really is fun. Yep, #NerdLand. Ha! Seriously, though. If you have in your mind that you can accomplish something, that's 70% of the battle. There is, indeed, power in positive thinking. Are you ready? Get set... GROW!
