Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of The University of Michigan with a dual BA in Spanish and Biological Anthropology. After graduation, I spent a year at Columbia University studying physics, chemistry, and math, and am now pursuing a Masters in Genetic Counseling. My tutoring experience includes helping high school students with Spanish, biology, and SAT prep, as well as mentoring incoming college freshman on organization and study habits. My absolute favorite subject to tutor is SAT, because it's so satisfying to see students who didn't think they could do well suddenly excel once they learn just a handful of strategies. The SAT has the same tricks every time, just in a different form. I try to get students to think like the test maker so they can anticipate these tricks. What concept are they trying to test you on with this question? What's important about this concept? What might they want to make sure you know? I also love tutoring Spanish. I lived in Madrid for 9 months during college, and I relish speaking Spanish any chance I get. I still remember what was confusing to me when I was learning the language, and I'm able to provide students with strategies that worked for me. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy ballet, skiing, central park, and Knicks games (although maybe not this year)!
