Certified Tutor

I recently completed my Master's degree in Geography at the University of Washington. Before that, I studied Geography and Political Science at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Up next: law school! So far I've been accepted to Duke, Georgetown and Harvard, but I'm waiting to hear back from a few more schools before I make my final decision about where to go.

I've taken the SAT, GRE, and the LSAT, so I'm a pro when it comes to standardized tests. I got bitten by the teaching bug while in graduate school, where I worked as both a teaching assistant and a tutor. I absolutely love the moment when my students finally understand a topic or concept that they have been struggling with, and feel so lucky to get to be a part of that process! From my TA days, I have tons of experience helping students with their writing projects. Helping students develop and perfect their papers and essays has become one of my favorite parts of teaching. I've also come to actually enjoy preparing for standardized tests, and hope to share some of that enjoyment with my students. Standardized tests are like puzzles, and predictable puzzles at that: once you learn to crack the code, you realize that they're not so scary after all! It's really important to me to find a teaching style that works for each individual student; one-size-fits-all teaching rarely works. So, I'll take the time to work with you and find an approach that does work.
