I always believe every student has potential to be successful. I've found that every student has a great capacity for progress and change if I use the right approach. I enjoy tutoring one-on-one, because I am able to focus solely on the needs of one individual. I like to pass on my knowledge to all my students with patience, challenges, and without overwhelming them or giving them the answers directly. In the past several years, I have tutored students ranging from the 2nd grade all the way up to College. I specialize in teaching all levels of math which includes high school’s Algebra and Geometry, as well as the SAT or ACT Math. I also teach various history Courses which include US History and Global History.
My teaching philosophy is that I believe the best way to learn subjects are through repetition of solving problems. I find that most of the students’ ultimate goals are passing the Standardized tests or exams. It is important that each student identifies the reason that he or she is studying for. Once that goal is vividly envisioned by the student, he or she will find enjoyment and satisfaction in understanding and applying new concepts as the student progresses towards his or her goal one step at a time. After we gain some momentum, it is simply a matter of time before the student masters each concept. I also explain the theories of these subjects through similar examples that the student can relate and understand. When they face with a tough problem, I like to break it down piece by piece and make it as simple as possible. I usually teach my students test-taking strategy to deal with standardized exams such as the SAT, High School Regents exams, etc. My biggest strengths are enthusiasm and patience, I want to make sure that all my students succeed. I enjoy seeing the reaction on their faces when they realize they're able to accomplish something.
I graduated with honor (Summa Cum Laude) in Mathematics and Finance and currently chase my MBA degree in Finance from New York University. I successfully passed all three levels exam of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Program. It not only helps me to understand the financial market in general but also lets me help my students preparing for finance or economics exams in the college as well as CFA exam.
