Free ACCUPLACER Practice Tests
ACCUPLACER tests are used to assess your knowledge of arithmetic, elementary algebra, reading comprehension, and sentence skills. There are also separate tests covering college-level math, sentence skills, and ESL subjects. Most of these tests are multiple choice. They don’t have a time limit, so you can concentrate on showing how well you know the subject being tested. A unique aspect of the test format is that the computerized system assesses your performance throughout your test. Based on your response, the system will choose a difficulty level for the next question. Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools offers four practice tests with ACCUPLACER sample questions. These help gauge your individual abilities to see where you may need more practice.
ACCUPLACER practice tests are invaluable for preparing for the big exam. As you take each practice test, you will become familiar with the question format. Each practice test is timed, although there is no time limit for completing it. You’ll see the test difficulty rating and the average time spent by other practice test-takers before you begin. The ACCUPLACER Sentence Skills Practice Test, for example, includes 10 multiple-choice questions that test your understanding of structure and word placement. Each question is timed separately. At the end of the test, you will see the number of correct and incorrect answers, your percentile, score, and graphs showing correct vs. incorrect responses. You are also presented with the time taken on each question and the percentage of practice test takers who answered each one right.
Free ACCUPLACER practice is also available for subjects such as reading comprehension. After answering questions comparing sentences and analyzing a passage, you are shown the same set of analyses to judge your performance. A difficulty rating is also shown for each practice test. Other tests with commonly asked questions include the ACCUPLACER Arithmetic Practice Tests. The free ACCUPLACER math study material practice tests cover general math such as subtraction, division, and multiplication, percentages, and number comparisons. You will need to know all of these for the 17-question arithmetic test, but the practice exam will help you to formulate a study plan and identify the concepts you need improvement in.
The ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra Practice Test offers a challenging method of proving your skills in this subject. Here, you are timed on selecting correct answers to algebraic expressions on Varsity Tutors' Learning Tools website. You may be asked to expand on, evaluate, analyze, and answer equations, word problems, and identify the all-important values of x or y. The scores you get on the test help evaluate your skills in answering the 12 questions on the ACCUPLACER Elementary Algebra test.
