Leadership Skills necessary to College Success by Zoi - March 2015 Scholarship Essay

Leadership skills are absolutely necessary for college success. Currently, I am a senior in high school, but his coming Fall I will be a freshman at Northern Arizona University. I believe that I will need to bring the leadership skills that my parents, teachers, and other leaders in my community have taught me to college. Leadership skills not only allow you to be a successful leader but they also allow you to work well with others and to learn how to be a follower if it is necessary.

In college, we will have to work with other students and learn how to create a project or conduct an experiment. Leadership skills such as time management, delegation, creativity, and responsibility will allow those projects to be impact full and a success. Giving each member of your group a job to do and giving them a certain amount of time, along with creative ideas to help each member will create a successful project. Teamwork is vital to be a strong leader, because you cannot be a leader if there is no one to lead. College is a check point in everyone's life where they will be tested and must challenge themselves to do better and to want to be successful at everything they do. Using vital leadership skills in college will not only help you succeed in college but also in your future career.

Any group, whether it be students, or coworkers, will need a leader who can communicate with them and help them,so that int urn one day they may also become leaders. I hope to bring the leadership skills that I have learned so far in my life to college and to use them to become a successful college student, and one day a successful leader in my career.
