My Future Starts with Me- Who I Want to Be in 10 Years by Zoey - March 2025 Scholarship Essay
I enjoy thinking about my future and where I will be; with that, I tend to set many goals for myself. 10 years in the future isn't something I tend to think about, however, I have many goals for college and after that will lead me there. In 10 years, I will be about 28 years old. By then, I hope to have a family, possibly kids, but most importantly I want to have a stable job that I truly love and enjoy doing. I will be studying biomedical engineering in college at Penn State Berks in the Fall of 2025. I hope to graduate with an engineering degree within the next 4-6 years, and after that work to find a job that suits me and allows me to do what I love. Due to studying biomedical engineering, I will likely be going into a field related to that after college. I will have to put in the work after college to continue to learn and grow at my jobs so I can work my way up in my career. It will likely be a challenging process as engineering can be difficult and biomedical engineering could make it even harder, however, I am confident in myself and my abilities and I will work my hardest to achieve these goals. The education I get in college will be the backbone of my career. I would say I am a good student, however, I want to apply myself even more in college by being proactive and organized so I can get the most out of my college years. Going from high school to college is a tough transition and it can cause people to lose motivation or get overstressed. I want to work my hardest to continue to be a great student, getting the help I need when I need it, supporting and helping my classmates, and truly just working my hardest to be the best person I can be. In 10 years, what I want most over anything is to be proud of myself and when I’ve done and continue to push myself to get better and learn more. Who knows where we will all end up in 10 years and sometimes we can’t control it, however, who you are and how you will see yourself is completely up to you. You decide who you will be in 10 years and all the decisions you make now lead you to that person.
