As a young student, most kids think that going to college is not very important. The older you get the more you see that you will need an education beyond what you receive in high school. Going further in your learning experience will help you grow as a young adult. You will make many mistakes during college and learn from those before you start a job. Getting a higher degree will give you a better chance of getting a job. Having a college degree makes you look very professional when applying for a job. You can major in the career you plan to work in. By furthering your learning experience you can go ahead and learn the skills you need for the job. Also, in college, you can learn if the choice you made really is what desire to do. You could be taking the classes required for the degree and realize that you have no interest in that field. Going to college will help you mature as an adult. It teaches you how to be an independent person. It teaches you how to make decisions for yourself without asking your parents for help. You have to learn to make a decision such as getting up and going to class. It is nothing like high school because it will be okay if you miss one day of high school and have to catch up. In college, if you miss a day, you can miss an entire chapter of notes and learn how to do the stuff in that chapter. If you are having a problem with something while in college you have to learn to correct it yourself because you can not always depend on others to do it for you. You learn how to plan things out ahead of time. While you are in college you have to plan out time to do your homework and study for a test. If you do not make time to study for the test then you could possibly fail and that means you could fail the course. You have to grow up and learn how to wash your own clothes and pay bills for yourself. Also, being on your own will teach you how to complete an obstacle in your life. College gives you challenges and teaches you ways to better yourself and other people.
