A decade long journey by Zen - March 2025 Scholarship Essay

It will be interesting to see what happens after a person goes through 12 years of formal education. I'm sure at first everything will seem new, cool and exciting. Then the familiar ups and downs of life will come up like a roller coaster. The up moments will be like my early education where everything is just fascinating and fun. Everything is easy to grasp. The down moments will be the moments when there's multiple things going on - extra-curricular activities, tests and deadlines. All the stress coming together, but also the ways I learn to cope with it and survive.
All those will prepare my decade long journey to be a resilient and focused computer science engineer. While others might see the word education as a general term for studying facts and figures, to me, it's also about the abstract amalgamation of the books I read, the eureka moments in class, and the experiences during field trips and competitions. It's discovering myself through the various subjects and joining after school clubs. It's about being a team member, whether it's in the laboratory or in a marching band. It's about pushing myself to be better, by having multiple AP subjects, and activities, and not taking it easy.
After the journey, I would be a successful member of society and be in a position to help others, especially ones that are currently in the same boat, maybe even writing a similar essay. I will share my knowledge and remind others that there's always success through hard work, and help such as scholarships like this.
