Since I was a child, my career goals have been centered around helping people. When I was 8, I wanted to be a doctor. At 12, a lawyer. Then at 16, I wanted to become a psychiatrist. My career choices have changed rapidly throughout the years but the common theme has stayed the same. Helping people. I believe I was drawn to the realm of psychology for a reason. I began exploring the field and was immediately captivated. Coincidentally, I had been struggling mentally around that time, so I began therapy. My therapist helped me to acknowledge and process events in my life and she further inspired me to pursue psychology. I want to help others the same way she helped me.

The biggest trait that draws me to psychiatry is the element of empathy. I believe that one of the most important traits that a psychiatrist can possess is empathy. As someone who is deeply compassionate, I am confident that I can establish healthy connections and provide a safe space for my patients. Through active listening and creating an understanding of my patients' issues, I can help them heal and develop the necessary coping mechanisms to deal with their struggles.

In ten years from now, I see myself earning my PhD and embarking on new adventures and opportunities. After obtaining my PhD degree, I believe that numerous opportunities in academia, research, and development will be unlocked for me. As an academic professional, I will be better equipped to participate in groundbreaking research work. Furthermore, I will be better suited to act as a mentor and advisor to other aspiring professionals in my field. In conclusion, my dream of obtaining a PhD in my chosen field of study will remain firm, and I am confident that with hard work, dedication, and focus, I will be one step closer to achieving my goal.

It would provide me with the resources necessary to pursue my passions, engage in my field of study, and achieve my long-term career goals. Most importantly, it would give me the motivation to continue striving for success and giving back to my community.
