Describe one New Year's resolution that will help you become a better student in 2016
This time of the year again. One whole month where people try to do things that will help them. These goals like running, no debt, or eating right are the mainstream goals that people set and ultimately fail at reaching. I believe that my goal is different. My New Year’s resolution is simple, do the best you can do and don’t settle for less. I believe that this is a bold and a strong statement to have as a resolution. I know that this is a goal that I can achieve. I love and play four separate sports. These sports have taught me how to do this. I need to keep not settling in the sports that I play. This goal will help me stay focused in school and also how to not lose a drive to become intelligent.
School has usually come relatively easy to me. I have parents that graduated from 4 year universities and my mother has a masters degree. I have been a good learner and I was taught as a young child to be smart and learn a lot. Being a smart kid I catch myself now just settling on getting the grade I want. I need to indulge myself in classes and learn as much as I can. This New Year’s resolution that I have set will help me learn from and love the classes I take.
New Year’s resolutions are usually never very reachable if you look at the whole year. One might last a week or two on exercising everyday; but when when the resolution is broken down into months, weeks, or even days, it makes the year’s goal seem very achievable and even exceedable. That is what I am going to do with my New Year’s resolution. I will not settle for just being good enough, I need to try to be the best that I am capable of being.
