Over the course of eighteen years, I have discovered that opportunities are what make or break an individual's success. Constantly referring back to the quote, “Success always comes when preparation meets opportunity.” I realized that I should always be ready for an opportunity to strike, whether it is out on the track or in the classroom. Through trial and error, I can gracefully say that, “My resolution is to pursue more opportunities and having an open mind ” I understand that the future has hardships, especially as I begin to develop more self independence. However, I am confident that these traits will help me overcome these obstacles to develop a sense of self, community, and success.

Growing up in Southern California has enabled me to meet a variety of people. A melting pot of unique religious and cultural backgrounds, has allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for those who do not assimilate to ordinary beliefs. Over the years I have encountered many unique people who have endowed me with a piece of themselves. They bestowed upon me the gifts of acceptance and open mindedness towards those who are not similar to myself. I am filled with compassion to hear someone's story and the impact it had on them. I can honestly say that there is not a condescending bone in my body, only fondness to discover an endless array of personal stories and experiences.

My involvement with extracurricular activities ranging from musical to athletic endeavors has seasoned me in taking advantage of opportunities. As a pole vaulter I am always reaching to achieve new heights. Not only athletically, but metaphorically striving to vault over obstacles in academic and social situations. The same theme is also present in choir which is more than just musical text and harmonies. It creates unity with everyone in the ensemble. Music is a universal language that forms an unexplainable feeling which can draw out a distinct emotion at any given time.With heavy involvement in an array of extracurricular activities, I have made it my goal to inspire others to strive for betterment and generate unity.

What I want from my future is to be apart of a community that specializes in diversity and creativity. My resolution will open my mind to even more endless possibilities. With positive interactions constantly being generated to create a sense of unity and community among other, I feel resolution will create a strong well rounded individual and prepare me for a successful life!
