Love what you do by William - August 2017 Scholarship Essay
Have you ever done something you love to do? Have you ever loved something so much that you wanted to teach a whole class about it? I have a passion for sports and helping people, whether the person is hurt physically, mentally or emotionally. I’ve grown up with the idea that I love these two things: sports and helping people. As I went through High School, I realized that I can turn what I love into a career: Athletic Training. Athletic Training made me think that I can work while I love what I do. There is a quote by a famous philosopher, named Confucius, “ choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” Do what you love and work does not become work.
Senior year is right around the corner, every student starts to gain a fear of college and for the future. Will I like my professors? Will I get into the college that I want to? Will I get scholarships to help me with my tuition? On the other hand, the professors are getting ready for another school year, teaching the same thing they’ve taught ever since they got the job. Constantly teaching the same subjects and lessons. If I was a professor in college, I would teach an Athletic Training class. Not only does the class have a lot of topics to learn from, and new techniques and new information constantly flowing into the field, due to the fact, it is a young career option and it hasn’t been around for a long time compared to the other career choices.
Furthermore, the love that I have for helping people and sports adds up to one thing: Athletic Training. If I would become a professor in this field, I would have a passion for what I do and hopefully give some of my passion that I have for what I do, to my students so they can reach their dreams, accomplish their goals, and be who they want to be in life.
