What the Future Holds. by Whitney - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

Throughout my twelve years in school I have learned many things, ranging from how to work with others and how to understand information that is being taught to me. In ten years I imagine myself finished with nursing school and working in a nursing facility, as a registered nurse, and raising a family. In order to achieve what my dreams are set to right now I need to have success in the present.
School can be a very difficult barrier to overcome but, if you have the right mindset everything should come easy. School is what your life consists of for the first years of your life and you have to make the most of it. There is a quote that can be based off of a lot in life by Michael Josephson: Don’t ask if it is going to be easy, ask if it is going to be worth it. When you are at the last and ready to give up just think it will all be worth it.
My whole entire high school career was spent in Summit, and I managed to place myself on the honor roll all six years of school. I found great pride in that. In my effort to keep my grades up there were times where it became difficult but I pushed through and worked incredibly hard and found that all the hard work paid off. Education is a very big part of where I want to be in ten years. Without it I will never have the degree I am striving to reach, and also without education now I would not be thinking about the future at all.
