How Overcoming Bullying helps everyone by Vyacheslav - November 2019 Scholarship Essay

In middle school I was a victim of bullying, but I overcame it by asking for God’s help to love those who bullied me. It is important to love your neighbor, as yourself — “Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law” (Rom.13:10). Even though at some times I felt offended, I loved my bullies.I drove away arguing, fighting, and harassing behavior by tranquil inquisition through course of events. I gave peaceful answers to those who detested me, and I found out that love changes hearts.My kind actions helped me overcome the bullying system.
After that instance, I did not face any difficult challenges with people. Because I am so friendly, I have a large circle of friends. People admire my determination and willingness to push myself to achieve my very high standards.
It effected my school in the sense that teachers remember me. There was a time that after school on Monday, Thursday, and all day Saturday I transport and escort patients throughout the Adventist Medical Center (OR). When I am with patients, I talk to them to ease their emotional pain. However, this is not the case for every patient, and I take it into consideration. I do my best to leave a great impression, thus demonstrating to the person that they are valued and that someone really cares for them even after they wave "goodbye" to their doctor. I dedicate myself to helping society by doing great work and thus I prepare myself for a career in nursing.
