#Knowledge by Vivian - April 2018 Scholarship Essay

Education is a learning experience in which many utilize to gain knowledge of the world and the community surroundings. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in areas related to the medical profession in my school and community. I have taken a lot of science and math courses that were not required by my school so that I could expand my knowledge in my areas of interest. Also, I have volunteered at my local hospital in order to have experience for my future career and to acquire a learning experience from all the people during my volunteer time as well as take the time to help others and put a smile on their faces. All the things I have done during high school have played a huge role in my fascination with the education of the science and medical fields. In order to foster and continue to grow my knowledge, I want to go to college to gain more understanding of my interests to be better prepared for the future.

After my graduation from college, I will enter medicine, as I intend to go to medical school and become a cardiothoracic surgeon. Through this career, I plan to use my obtained education that I have gathered over the years to build hospitals around the world and treat those who are in need for free. It has always been my dream to help those underserved because I do not think parents should lose their child or children lose their parents simply because they do not have money. College will prepare me for the future ahead of me. I will be able to gain a lot of experience from intellectual and exceptional professors. Also, College will expose me to a network of economic and academic resources that I will need to realize my healthcare goals.
