The 35th President of the United States by Victoria - February 2016 Scholarship Essay
If I could have dinner with any historical figure, I would choose John Fitzgerald Kennedy. John F. Kennedy is my favorite president of the United States and he is a man who is very interesting and important in our history. I would want to have dinner with him because there are so many different questions I would ask about his life, family and presidency. JFK is definitely one of the most well known presidents and he had a very lavish, hardworking and sad life.
John F. Kennedy was one of seven, he had two prestigious parents and surprisingly he wasn’t the one who was supposed to be president. He was very sick as a child and I would be interested to see what he remembered about his childhood, siblings and more. I visited the house he was born in, the John F. Kennedy library in Boston and the museum in Cape Cod, where he spent a lot of his time and summers. I would ask him what he remembered about his siblings, his summer and his parents. I love listening to people talk about their families and memories and I can only imagine all of the memories he had with all his siblings.
Also, his wife Jackie Onassis is very interesting as are his children. I would ask about his memories with them, how he met Jackie and then I would move on towards his presidency. I would ask him about his campaign verses Richard Nixon, I would ask him his opinion about their televised debate, since it was the first in history and I would ask him about what else he wanted to accomplish in office and if he would have run for another term. I would only ask him a few questions about his assassination, if he had any idea who did it, but other than that I would stay away from that topic.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy had a lively and thrilling life full of accomplishments, family and hardships. I would have dinner with JFK in Cape Cod where he grew up during the summer and I would ask him questions to hear more about his exciting and interesting life. I would have dinner with John F. Kennedy because he is my favorite president but he is also someone who impacted the United States greatly.
