Dinner With A President by Victoria - October 2017 Scholarship Essay

If I could have dinner with any president, I'd have dinner with Barack Obama. Since I'm young, he is the only president I've seen throughout both of his terms and remembered it. In history, we've learned about plenty of other presidents but Obama seems the most interesting to me. I'd have dinner with him because I would have so many questions to ask him about things like his presidential duties to things about his lovely family.
Having dinner with any president would be a huge honor so of course, I'd make the most out of my time with them. Obama served two terms, eight years, which is a long time that I'm sure was extremely stressful. He really seemed to have the peoples best interest at heart and I can't help but wonder how he did it all. No one is perfect, including our presidents, so not everyone will always like them. I would definitely ask him what went through his mind when dealing with controversial topics since I'm sure it wasn't easy.
Even though he was a president, he was also still a father and husband. He has a beautiful wife and two beautiful young girls. I can't imagine how hard it was having to handle the United States' problems as well as family issues. No doubt that I'd ask how his family is doing now that he is out of office and how his life has been overall.
Therefore, of all the presidents, I'd have dinner with Barack Obama. To me, he was one of the most caring presidents with an amazing family and for that and all the questions I would ask, he is the one I choose.
