There are many definitions of leadership and many skills required to be a leader. Once you go into a university you and over a thousand of students are after the same thing: getting your diploma and start a career. However, to do so one needs specific characteristics that won’t take them on a path one does not want to go on. One of those characteristics is leadership skills. Characterized as a leader is a positive attribute. Obtaining Leadership skills are necessary for college success because being a leader sets you apart from the rest. On a career path one has to be focused, yet show that they are the best option when it comes down to being able to lead a group of individuals from all walks of life and different personalities for the best solution available.

Leadership skills are just a list of qualities that make up a leader: Determination, ambition, perseverance, and etc. College is also very competitive. Being accepted into a nursing school I know how important standing out is when going into an aggressive major that requires strong leadership skills. Being a leader helps one be and get what they truly want from life. .Without having leadership skills how can one progress their career goals as well as achieve them? While being goal-oriented is part of being a leader there is a difference when it comes to being selfish and driven towards their ambitions. How one achieves their goals also reflects on the type of leader one is. Overall, possessing these leaderships traits are not only a benefit for students in college but also in one’s life.
