Ten Years Later!!!!! by Tyler - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

Before I started college in August, I would have told anyone that in ten years I would be far removed from school, have an exciting career in its prime and quite possibly be ready to settle down and have a family. It's amazing how a few short months and a few college courses have changed my outlook! Because of a course at Coastal Carolina University called "The First Year Expeirence", I have had the opportunity to explore career options within my major and ultimately decide what I want to be, a college athletic director.
Because of my choice I will need to obtain a masters degree and be in school longer than I initially intended. Obviously instead of being far removed from school it will be recently removed and I will have much more student loan debt to contend with. I will also be starting out on the career path instead of well on my way there. Life will definetly progress a little differently than I orginally planned but that' alright. I know that the opportunities within my major at Coastal Carolina such as world class professors and ample internships will give me the tools I need to be successful at both graduate school and my career. You never know, I can have a game plan and anything can change that plan. I just need to continue to be focused on what I can do right now to make me more successful in ten years.
