Students Don't Like a Bad Communicator by Tyler - January 2015 Scholarship Essay
Everyone knows that not everyone is perfect and that everyone has flaws, but many people cannot see their own flaws. Many teachers for example do not see their flaws in teaching and many teachers look for new ways to teach their students so that the students get the most out of what they are teaching. One piece of advice I would give to a teacher is to never stop communicating with your students no matter how much you do not like them.
Communication is one thing that everyone needs in order to be successful. Teachers especially need to communicate so that the students can learn the material. If a teacher hands the students a textbook and says there will be a chapter test in two weeks, more than likely most of the class will fail, and when most of the class fails, the teachers will get a bad reputation. So you have to communicate with the students to make sure that most of the students understand the lesson, but do not get discouraged if one or two do not completely get it, they may not be trying to learn.
So now we know that communication is very important in the classroom, but it is also very important out of the classroom. Not every student understands something at the same pace of other students. For many people it takes time to learn something and many students need extra help. Teachers need to communicate with the students in order to see what times will work for them to come in and get extra help, and many students will take advantage of this extra time you put in. I had a teacher that never stayed after school and when I would have trouble on an assignment, there was no help to be found. I never like taking classes with teachers that do not want to put in the time for their students
Communication is one of the main factors for everyone to be successful. Communication happens inside and outside the classroom. Communicating with the students to see if they understand the lesson will eliminate the amount of people failing in the class. If you have students that still do not understand the lesson, communicate with those students, so they can get extra help and pass your class. Your goal is always to see your students succeed.
