To Attend College or Not To Attend by Tyler - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
All individuals are unique. Isn't that what most kids hear from their role models? This leads me to believe that all graduates from high school will not need to go to college.
What makes individuals unique is their differences based on their backgrounds, their skills, gifts, talents, and more. This means some people will go on to college to pursue their dreams while others will attend workshops, take online classes, take private lessons, or go other routes to acquire necessary knowledge and skills needed to accomplish their goals. For example, if a high school student has put in countless hours in the arts and have gifts and talent in this area, he or she may not need to go to college to get a job in his or her planned field. He or she could continue the learning through practice, group sessions, online work, private lessons, etc.
On the other hand, another student may take on a major that requires clinical lab hours. This student would however, need to attend college, as college would be an important piece of the foundation necessary for the student to be successful. In-class sessions in addition to online sessions, independent work, and lab work would be some of the required work.
If our role models teach us to dream, they should teach us to take on the path that's fulfilling to us, as we're all unique and can make a difference in whatever path we take
