A Little Wisdom. by Trystan - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

Wow. Out of the many things I could tell my younger peers, I believe the most important would be to not take life for granted. Life is crazy and short. There is two reasons why I would share this with younger students.
Life is unfair, hectic, and down right stressful, but it's also amazingly fun and full of fantastic people and fantastic places. Looking back on my short 17 year life that there are many things I did not appreciate and took for granted. For instance, I think I have taken many of my teachers for granted, not realizing how hard they work and not realizing what they have done to better my life. I feel as if most teachers try to push students to their limit to make them reach their maximum potential. If I could go back in time, I would most definitely make myself reach my max potential in school, in sports, and just in life in general.
The second reason somewhat ties into the first reason and that reason is because life is short. No one should go through life not meeting their potential. I believe everyone should be the very best they can be. That means being the best friend they can be, the best athlete, the best spouse; anything they do they should try to be the very best at it. Life is short, so when you die, how do you want to be remembered?
To sum this up, life is short and people (including myself) should try to meet their best potential. I know I'm extremely stressed about my financial situation for college, but that's why I'm doing this scholarship, to pass a little wisdom and also meet my potential by reaching my goal of graduating college with no debt.
