By studying abroad this would impact my college education in a positive way. I would be able to appreciate other cultures by seeing their history and seeing their art. The enlightening experiences and viewpoints I would gain would help me be more open minded to the ideas I would need in my future as a teacher.

The opportunity to learn and experience cultures, customs and a different outlook on life would be a refreshing experience for me as an American college student. It would expand my understanding that each person has their own unique way of life that differs from those here in America. It would help me to gain a better appreciation of their culture by being able to experience it all first hand. I would be able to learn a different way to relate to cultures I was not raised in. This would help me be able to reach out to a diverse group of kids and teach in a way that they can relate and understand.

By seeing the architecture and the ancient remains of a country's past would increase my understanding of the history of that country. I would be able to see many new sites, and learn the historic importance of each site to the people living there. The knowledge of where a country has been and experienced is vital to knowing where they are now. It also helps to relate to others in the workforce and students that have a past that may differ from my own. Each student and person comes with a rich and complex history much like a different country. Taking the time to learn and study a country is a good precursor to learning to be an excellent teacher.

In exploring the rich remains of a different county I would have the opportunity to experience historic art. This would provide me a greater appreciation and opportunity to learn these art techniques and forms. It would also allow me to be able to learn from the people that still employ these techniques in the modern art world. I can use later use these techniques to teach to kids and explain the importance of the diversity of art. Techniques used around the world vary from region to region. The opportunity to learn and see these styles in a hands on environment is a experience that would be unforgettable.

In conclusion, studying abroad would expand my horizon to the learning of new cultures and experiencing of new customs. I would also gain a greater appreciation of historical sites belonging to other countries, and be a part of new art experiences. Having experienced an opportunity to study abroad would help me relate to other students I may be attending college with, as well as my future students in ways I am unable to fully comprehend at this juncture in my life.
