What You Do Now Will Have an Impact Later. by Trinese - December 2022 Scholarship Essay
Certain lessons that were learned throughout 2022 will help impact my future. It taught me to keep focus regardless of what's going on around me, continue to be a leader and not a follower, and if you want something go after it. Normally you will hear a lot of people say those same things but those are the things that motivated me the most.
2022 was definitely a rollercoaster ride for me. In the beginning, I was struggling to keep my grades up as a Junior in high school. I had lost my motivation to do school. I knew what I wanted to do for college but I just didn't know how to get there. For example I was at plan A and I needed to get to plan C but I couldn't figure out what plan B was going to be. But I kept setting mini goals for myself to achieve. Setting those goals were me taking my baby steps just to finish out the school year strong.
Once I finished my Junior year my cumulative dropped by one point. I was highly upset about that but I couldn't dwell on it for too long. I looked at that as another reason to be motivated. Before my senior year started I made a goal for myself to receive at least one principal’s honor roll and the other 3 quarters had to be an honor roll. So far I've received one honor roll and I have 3 more quarters to go. I’ve done it before so I know for a fact I can do it again. Making these short term goals throughout the school year so far helped me get honor roll first quarter and I will continue to use this method throughout the rest of my high school career and college career.
