I hope to major in Biology with possibly a minor in psychology. Since elementary school, I’ve always been fascinated by the functions of the human body and how our organ systems operate in harmony. This curiosity led me to be that one kid who would choose to watch National Geographic rather than any Disney movie. As I studied more about this passion of the human body, I grew to have a love for understanding the biological processes that impact our health and behavior. However, my love didn't stop at a cellular level; I grew to be equally intrigued by psychology and how our minds and behavior shape who we are. Specifically, the nature vs. nurture debate changed my lens of life after learning about it. I hope to gain a deep understanding of the intersection of biology and psychology and the relationships between our physical bodies and our society. In biology, I’m particularly drawn to the cardiovascular system and the complexities of the heart and all its functions. This interest was the inspiration for my overall goal of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon. I'm eager to learn more about how the heart works at a detailed level, from the cellular mechanisms to the broader implications of the health of the heart. Gaining a deep understanding of biology and psychology is important to me as it enables a compassionate, well-rounded approach- essential for achieving my goal of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon
