My model to life by Tori - March 2021 Scholarship Essay

Growing up is never easy but mine was the furthest from easy. I used to live off of meals that were easy to make and best of all cheap. But my only constant parent, my mother, made it work with little to no help. As I have gotten older I began to realize just how hard it was for her being a mother for the last 18 years. I began to realize that as easy as she made it seem it was much much harder then she let on. My mother is and always will be my model to life.

Mom always went to work even when she didn't feel good and stayed home when we needed her and was always prepared to drop everything for my sister and I when she used to work. I hadn't appreciated it as much as I do now but she has always been my role model. I always look up to her and decide that one day I will be a hard worker, one day I will be a role model, one day I will be a mom with two happy and healthy children, and one day I will be mature enough to handle anything. I will be calm and level with my children even when I am furious, I will be a hard working employee to provide for my family. These are just some of the ways she has inspired me. As I get older I realize that I may not be my mother but I want to take some of these specific attributes that I admire and be those things so that maybe I will inspire someone the same way she has inspired me now. And it is because of her being my role model and inspiring me that I have managed to get this far in my life.

So in short, my mother is who I will always view as someone to look up to and be inspired by and will continue to be motivated by for the rest of my life and school.
