The Culmination of Knowledge by Tony - November 2016 Scholarship Essay
College is the gathering grounds for people who yearn to learn, and is the frontier of the culmination of knowledge; it is where people go to find themselves and to bring consciousness to their life and to their surroundings. College is the second chance you have to truly create who you are and find your aspirations without judgement nor interference.
To me, the whole experience is pertinent; but I want to learn. College is the proving grounds for me as I want to educate the future youth of America. I desire to accumulate the knowledge of the unknown and carry it around as a means of improving not only my life, but others as well. I dream of inspiring others, and to do so, you need power: knowledge is power. I constantly reflect on this, and further my education by myself everyday to obtain what others lack. Inside and outside of the classroom, lessons can be learned and that is life. That is why I chose a college out of my comfort zone, to gather new information and to learn a new means of culture and life. To choose a college that you have always known is a mistake because you are giving up an opportunity to advance yourself in life by choosing the known over the unknown, learning nothing near as valuable in the end. To do so would be like an adventurer dreaming of sailing around the world set on finding new land mapping the unknown, but sticking to only what they know in their region in the end. This is not by any means helping anyone; it only gives one a finer look at things. College education is not all about your major and minor; it is about a new experience, it is a door that has just opened from the inside thrusting you outside into the real world.
To answer your question, I will be thankful for the knowledge I will have earned from the experience and from the college itself. I am thankful for what I learn everyday because not everyone has that opportunity. I will also be thankful for it because I will incorporate what I have learned into a classroom setting appropriately for children to learn and draw from my own experiences, hopefully creating a positive impact and atmosphere for the children in the end. Lastly, I will be thankful for the experience because I genuinely love to learn and further my knowledge.
