Academic Goals for the year by Timyia - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

When I attend Stevenson University this year I have three major goals I would like to accomplish. My first goal is to end the semester with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Secondly, I would like to improve my writing skills. Lastly, I want to complete all my pre-requisites so I can start the nursing program next year. I believe I can accomplish all of these goals with a lot of hard work and making sure I stay focused. Having goals is important because helps guide your focus and it will make you challenge yourself to do things you probably thought you were not able to do.
The way I can start working towards these goals is attending all of my classes and being involved in the classroom. I plan to accomplish my first goal by making sure I study hard, complete all of my homework, and pass my exams. If I apply myself I should be able to finish out the semester with a 3.0 or higher. I can achieve my second goal of becoming a better writer by writing more papers and having my professors review my papers and give me constructive criticism of what I need to improve on. My last goal is completing all my pre-requisites with a passing grade so I can enter the nursing program the way I plan to achieve this goal is by making sure I pass all of my classes and if I am struggling I will go to my professors or a tutor so I can get some extra help. The reason these goals are important to me is because it will eventually help me to graduate and it will encourage me to achieve bigger goals in my future. When I do complete these goals it will help me better complete my courses with a passing grade.
