New Jersey by Thomas - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Four years ago when I went to Haiti, I saw the true meaning of hungry children. This is when I realized that I had to be the change, and you may say to yourself how can one person make a change. It's easy do something that will make someone else's life better. This trip made me see that nothing will ever change unless we make the changes. We are the change. Together, we could raise money, start food drives, and even teach those countries who are in need of food, how to grow different food. If just one person got out there and helped feed the hungry, just imagine the lives that could be saved.

Ways I will change world poverty is by doing missionary work in foreign countries, helping build the economy, and the neighborhoods. There are so many people around the world that are dying every minute from starvation, but by raising awareness, showing the statistics, and giving ideas, we can end world hunger.

Personally, I was successful in gathering a few friends and were are able to go door to door to spread the word and get people involved in our efforts to end world hunger. We collect canned foods and send them to food banks. I have also been successful at persuading most of my family members to donate to organizations that help feed the hungry. Other ways I would like to make a difference in this to keep spreading the word and to also work with college organizations to not only bring awareness about world hunger, but also get others involved in my efforts to make a change in the local community. My aim to get so many people involved in the mission of helping stop world hunger, so that we can make a difference. Starvation is everywhere and has already taken many lives.

We need to put an end to it as soon as we can. If we all got together, then this dream of no hunger could actually be a reality! We need to keep spreading and doing all we can to help. Doing so, we can eventually get enough people and the needed capital to end hunger once and for all. We can really do this if we really try! This is not just something that came overnight as time went on we let this happen just like the ozone layer, this didn't just happen this has been happening for a long time me made these mistakes me much clean our mistakes up and with this efforts we can. Don't be afraid to make the difference that will change a life time.
