I aspire to be nothing less than the best, but all greatness starts from somewhere.
Looking back at my school years, it is challenging to pinpoint just one outstanding achievement among the many valuable experiences I have had. Grade school was transformative. I discovered my passions and continuously worked towards self-improvement.
In 9th grade, I was solely focused on academic success, achieving high grades, and being recognized as one of the top students in my class. However, I realized that true fulfillment extended beyond academics, and I yearned for a greater purpose. Quarantine during my sophomore year allowed me to reflect and reevaluate my priorities. I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, realizing that I was meant to be more than just a scholar.
To shape a more meaningful identity, I challenged myself to explore different interests. I began writing to express myself, started a fitness routine to improve my health, and embraced track and field. These endeavors not only strengthened my mind and body, but also helped me mature and take responsibility.
In my junior year, I set my sights and passions on track and field. Recognizing the significance of leading by example, I made sacrifices and prioritized my commitments. I willingly traded aspects of my social life for the opportunity to excel in track and field and join a collegiate program.
My immigrant parents' relentless work ethic inspired me to give my all to my passions, seeking opportunities to return their support. As my discipline and work ethic grew, I felt proud of my accomplishments.
Today, my peers regard me as one of the hardest-working individuals they know. During the school year, I woke up at 4 a.m. every day to run before school, diligently attend extra credit sessions after school, and complete homework late into the night after practice. My dedication and enthusiasm have motivated others to follow suit and focus on their passions and success.
Despite joining Holy Family University's Track and Field and Cross Country program with 12 AP credits and substantial financial aid, the financial burden of college persists. My determination and commitment drive me to seek scholarships like this one to help alleviate the cost and pursue my dreams.
With the discipline and work ethic I cultivated during high school, I now aspire to attain a personal training certification, build a successful investment portfolio, and even graduate a semester early. My belief in myself fuels my confidence. I know I can achieve these goals, hopefully with your support.
As I look toward the future, I am grateful for the opportunities I have had and the opportunities this scholarship presents. I eagerly await new challenges and growth, knowing every step I take brings me closer to my dreams.
