What aspect of your education are you most thankful for? by Taylor - November 2015 Scholarship Essay
Out of all the important aspects of education I am most thankful for the widespread opportunities I am able to take part in. Buffalo High School gives many great options that we as students are able to become involved in at school.
These opportunities include such things as Dual Credit , AP, speech, and other advanced classes. These classes will help me get ready for the busy world of college. Dual credit classes will give me a head start on the credits that I need for college and help me get used to the work within the college environment. AP classes make me stay on top of my work, and push myself beyond my limits. Speech class is helping me with all of the many many speeches to come in college. In speech we go to competitions and compete in many forms of debate and also in other speaking events such as exempt and poetry.
Another important aspect to my education are the people involved in helping become the student that I want to be. One of those in particular is my Spanish teacher Mrs. Eppes. She is such an inspiration to me because she shows me to look for the very best in life and explore it. She is such a great teacher and makes the learning experience lots of fun and memorable!
The opportunities that Buffalo High School have blessed me with will prepare me for so much more than just college itself. These aspects will also help me with everyday life. Dual Credit will remind me yes it's hard but there is a reward at the end. AP will remind me that my responsibilities are important and that I need to take care of them. Speech will give me the courage that I need to stand up and allow my voice to be heard.
