What do you think are the greatest benefits of a college degree? by Taylor - October 2024 Scholarship Essay

School plays a big part in our lives. College is another continuation of that schooling. One of the
greatest benefits of a college degree is that you are more likely to get hired for a job when that
degree pertains to the job description. If you go to college you want to be more successful in the
job you want to specialize in. Getting a degree can help that in many ways. It proves that you
are ready for that job but also depending on the level of degree, you could have limitations. For
example, if you are becoming a teacher you could start off with an associate's degree. You can
only teach elementary unless you get your bachelor’s degree, which brings your education
teaching level to high school. Then there is your master’s degree, which you can still teach
kindergarten through 12th grade. But you can teach some college courses depending on the
college. Then you have your doctorate degree which you can teach any grade level including
college. So basically what I am saying is that the greater the college degree the greater
opportunities you have. Whether that is getting to teach higher grade levels or higher pay levels.
