Strategies for Sucess by Taylor - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

In a student’s educational career, there are many projects that will be assigned and completed. In order for a student to finish each project successfully, there are a few strategies that are beneficial. When a student plans, begins, and delegates, they are able to complete their project in a timely manner to the best of their ability.
The first step to completing a school project is to plan it out. Depending on the project, there are different ways a student can plan it out, such as using an outline, a drawing, or a thinking map. Without planning ahead, it is hard to know the direction of the project and can cause a student to have to redo certain tasks or start over completely. Planning it out also helps the student to know how much needs to get done, which ties into the other strategies of successfully completing a school project. Taking the time to plan the project will help the student transition into starting on it.
The next step to completing a school project is to begin it. Without beginning the project, it will never get done. Usually, when someone begins a project, they are more likely to keep working on it than letting it sit. Beginning is usually the hardest part of the project. One must start in plenty of time in order to have more time to work on the project, to reduce stress, and make the project the best it can be. Once a student starts the project, they are able to work on it gradually so that it will not be rushed at the last minute.
The last strategy in completing a project is to delegate the tasks at hand. This ties along with the other two strategies, as one must plan the tasks and when to do them. A student also must begin the project in order to delegate the rest of the tasks at hand. When a student delegates the tasks, they are able to ensure they are working on the project wisely and getting it done on time. It also reduces stress because the student does not feel like they have to finish it all at once.
Although students dread completing projects, using these strategies will help reduce stress and get them done in plenty of time. Planning, beginning, and delegating are strategies that are beneficial and should be used for every project, no matter how impossible it may seem.
