Academic Goal for the Upcoming Year by TAWANIKA - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

My academic goal for the upcoming year would be to get back in the mode of being an adult learner working on achieving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. It was a long time since I have received my associate degree in Business Administration. The thought of going to a new school and learning a whole new way of learning in the online world.
I believe that over the last year in a half of working from home has helped to get me in the habit of using my resources to get the task at hand done. I will not have my professor or don’t always have my supervisor, in this situation, at my side. Working from home in the beginning was not easy and was a lot of trial and error. By six months in, it was finally working for me to the point I was comfortable with it.
With that experience I will be able to incorporate how I have work from home into my academic goal for this year. During the first week of class, it will give me a new prospective on the online learning environment. This is the time to schedule time out to study for my class(es) and making sure that I am well versed in what I am learning. I also will need to make sure I can juggle both working fulltime and being in school parttime.
So, with my mode of going back to school since 2004 and not being in person but online due to my school being in another state and one hour behind in time zone. I will have to be organized and try to put things in a parking lot to go to my professor with if I get stuck in anyway.
This will be the true test of my technology skills I have learned along the way. In doing online learning, I will gain new skills to add to my resume and that too will help with my academic goal to start out at Colorado Technical University Online.
