WHAT COLLEGE MEANS TO ME???!!!! by Taron - June 2013 Scholarship Essay

Right now, attending college is very important to me. It's a new journey in my life to see if I can endure all of the trials/tests I am to soon pursue. I plan on getting a Master's Degree in finance, and going to college will further increase my knowledge on that concept. According to statistics, a college graduate would most likely earn one million dollars in their lifetime compared to a high school graduate. At first when I found out that I would have to take out loans to pay for my college expenses at first I was very skeptical, but after several discussions with people I realized that if I'm successful after college the loan amount that I have to repay should feel like nothing to me. So for now it may seem like a lot, but lets hope that scenario comes true. Living on campus is also a good experience because you get your first chance of being free from home. You have to be more responsible like getting yourself ready for classes, get good grades, making the right decisions and handle being on your own. Getting a degree also increases your chances of getting a good job during your lifetime and due to all the competition there is to get a job, it'll gives you an advantage as someone who graduated college compared to a high school graduate. So college means a lot to me. To me it's a win-win situation because I will increase my human capital and increase my wealth.
