What Resolution? by Tania - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
At the beginning of every year, my resolutions have always been about losing weight, exercising, or reading more books. Like always that would only last for about a month or two, either showing my lack of commitment or how I quit too easily. This year I decided to be a little more realistic. I chose to begin eating healthier, get more sleep, and make time to spend with friends. By doing so I believe that I will become a better student this upcoming year. I can have a chance to be mentally and physically healthy but just establishing a few, small changes in my daily routine.
This first semester of college has shown me how important it is for each student to have healthy habits whether for eating, studying, or sleeping. I have seen various students pull all-nighters, skip meals, and constantly cancel plans with friends. Because I have seen all this first hand I hope I never have to do such things. I want to be able to enjoy this upcoming semester as much as possible so that I am able to learn new subjects in my classes but also learn more about myself as the months pass by.
