My future plans by Taner - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
When thinking of the future people always think of their ideal plans: a big house, a cool car, and a happy family. But a lot of the times they don’t think about all the work that it takes to get all of those things. In todays world to get a half way decent job you have to have some sort of college education, at the very least you have to have a high school diploma.
There is no excuse for why you cannot further your education, there is enough financial aid that anyone could get help, and you can get a degree in pretty much anything. It is probably easier now more than ever to obtain a job that you would actually enjoy because everything is so accessible. Almost everyone has access to a computer and that is all you need to take college level classes.
I want to do something along the lines of environmental or safety engineering. To get a degree in this takes about four years. I think it would be interesting to go around to all the different places, and not be stuck behind a desk all day.
I really want to be my own boss, so I want to be something like a private contractor. Idealy I could find another person and partner up with him and start my own company with him. With the oil boom right now there is a need for these safety engineers, but even when the oil industry is down other businesses need engineers, so there is always enough work.
Your education is very important. Without a college degree this job would not be possible to get. Most plans that I have for my future revolve around a strong education.
