My 10 Year speech By Tamiera Chatman by Tamiera - March 2020 Scholarship Essay
Hello ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for honoring me tonight with the Sanctuary Wildlife Award. The past ten years have been adventurous. I have traveled around the world studying animals. I’ve connected and collaborated with different types of wildlife organizations and animal reserves, all with the intent of owning and operating my own in Canada. While I was in college studying to receive a double major in Zoology and Biology, I worked throughout the U.S for 3 years practicing and handling different types of animals at various local zoos and veterinary clinics. Which enabled me to spend the next couple of years earning my Master’s Degree in Conservation Biology. From there I also obtained my PhD in Conservation Biology in order to conduct my own research, and eventually open an animal reserve/ wildlife refuge. After building many connections within National and International Wildlife Conservations. I have began working on opening a animal reserve in Canada. Canada is one of the countries where the ecosystem is compromised greatly. Research is taking up most of my time during the days while overseeing the wildlife refuge all in hopes to eventually explore different species and habitats all around the world. I want to thank you all again for the award, and I hope I inspired others in the process.
